The award was granted to Mrs. Mubarak during the Arab Working Conference held in Khartoum in appreciation of her great efforts in support of Arab Women in general and Egyptian women in particular.

The announcement was made by Counselor Mahmoud Dawoud, President of the Forum at the inauguration session of the 3^rd Arab Conference for Arab Working Women held under the title “Firm Steps towards the Empowerment of Arab Women”. The Conference took place in Khartoum with the participation of 14 Arab countries in addition to the Arab Labor Organization, the International Labour Organization (ILO), Egypt's National Council for Women (NCW) and other women unions and organizations in the Arab world. The participants in the Arab Forum have highly praised the unlimited contributions made by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak and her interest in women’s issues.
