Youth Network Members of the Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement recently participated in the Fifth Arab Youth Forum organized by Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

Held under the slogan “The Economic Empowerment of Arab Youth”, the Arab Youth Forum brought together hundreds of young people from across the Arab world to share perspectives on ways to empower young people to navigate through today’s turbulent economic conditions and reap the benefits of globalization.

Throughout the sessions, Youth Network Members worked hard to disseminate the vision and objectives of the Peace Movement. They helped to highlight the importance of a Culture of Peace as a key element and a gateway for economic empowerment. They emphasized that the values and principles of the culture of peace, whether we are talking about tolerance, cooperation or gender equality, can help to significantly enhance the entire developmental process.

In an effort to promote the Peace Movement’s activities, Youth Network members also managed a booth showcasing many of the Peace Movement’s publications and awareness raising materials.

Following the forum, an article in the Egyptian Al Ahram Newspaper stated that many participants attending the Arab Youth Forum identified the Movement as one of the most important associations focusing on empowering young people in the region.
