Youth Network Governorates Meeting December 8th and 10th 2009, Cairo, Egypt
Date :
12/8/2009
Youth Network members from seven governorates including Behera, Dakahliya, Damietta, Kafr El Sheikh, Ismailiya, Menofia and Sharkeya gathered in Cairo recently to discuss their action plan for the upcoming year.
All the plans were well thought out and demonstrated the young people’s dedication to implement the Movement’s objectives on a much wider scale across their governorates through programs and campaigns in schools, youth centers and universities. Network members all expressed the importance of tailoring their programs to meet the needs and interests of their communities.

The Damietta group, for instance, have worked to brand their identity by merging their governorate logo with that of the Movement. The Behera group, meanwhile, noting young people people’s interest in protecting nature in their governorate, has proposed various environmental activities for 2010.

At the end of the meetings, Mrs. Nagwa Shoeb and Dr. Farid Antoun, the Movement’s Technical Advisor for the Culture of Peace Education Initiative congratulated the youth network members on their ideas and for their commitment to the cause of peace.
