Youth Network Members participate in Peace and Development Walk

In celebration for the International Day of Francophonie, several members of the Movement’s youth network from the Dakahliya governorate participated in a walk to promote the role of young people in enhancing Peace and Development in the African region, organized by the Egyptian National Council for Youth.

  The event brought together young people from ten different African member countries of the International Organization of the Francophonie including Egypt, the Togolese Republic, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Republic of Chad, Republic of Ghana, Republic of Guinea, Central African Republic, Republic of Mali, Democratic republic of Congo, Republic of Rwanda.

 International Organization of the Francophonie’s focuses on promoting the French language as an international language and the promotion of worldwide cultural and linguistic diversity in the era of economic globalisation. Moreover, the organization strives to enhance democracy and human rights across borders.

 Dr. Boutros Boutros Ghali, Member of the Movement’s Advisory Board, served as the first Executive Secretary for the organization from 1997 – 2002. The current

Executive Secretary is H.E. Abdou Diouf, former President of the Republic of Senegal.
